The WirtschaftsVereinigung Metalle (WVM) represents the economic issues of the non-ferrous metal industry. In 2014 the sector generated a turnover of 44.4 billion Euros.
The WVM sees its responsibilities towards its member companies in representing the economic interests of the German producers and processors of non-ferrous metals, in particular in trade policy, environmental policy, fiscal policy, energy policy and transport policy.
Furthermore, it supports market transparency through statistical services and market anlalysis in collaboration with the member companies and industry associations.
Over and above the connected Donor's Association for Metals, the Metal Trade Association supports the hands-on research for metal products. Further duties include the promotion of standardisation projects for the metals area as well as the dialogue with the general public.
