Working Group “Processing properties of synthetic ceramic raw materials” serves as the expert platform for developers, producers, fabricators and users of synthetic raw materials for advanced ceramics. The regular meetings are focused mainly on to processing technique relevant topics like properties of synthetic raw materials, influence of chemical additives, characterization and controlling of surface properties of inorganic particles as well the processing properties and their specific impact on to the whole ceramic process chain from the preparation and granulation up to the shaping technology, especially. The successful activities in education and training of this working group should be pointed out.
• Discussion and definition of industrial and scientific topics in the area of synthetic ceramic raw materials and chemical additives • Development of a science-based knowledge of interactions between raw materials properties and their technological processing properties over the whole ceramic process chain including the impact and controlling of surface properties and the application of chemical additives for the manufacturing of advanced ceramics. • Initiation of joint research and development projects of universities, research institutes and industry, • Exchange of experiences, education and training, promotion and support of young researchers, networking.
