Current security measures and existing travel restrictions prevent an on-site meeting, but DGM has already developed an alternative solution to bring the international LPM community together in virtual space. The organisers' concept has been very well received, and the web conference will now continue to allow all interested parties to access the content on offer - be it lectures, posters or visits from the associated exhibitors.
Under the direction of Hiroyuki Niino (National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology, Japan) and Andrés Fabián Lasagni (TU Dresden, Fraunhofer IWS, Germany) a comprehensive and multi-stranded program has been developed, which is currently being adapted to the new infrastructure of the virtual conference and will be communicated around mid-June.
LPM visitors can look forward to the following plenary speakers:
Prof. Dr. Andras Tünnermann
10 kW-class ultrashort-pulse lasers for industrial applications
Prof. Nicholas X. Fang
Meta-Manufacturing: Multiscale and Multifunctional Manufacturing at Digital Age
Dr. Koji Sugioka
Advanced femtosecond laser 3D micro/nanoprocessing
Prof. David R. Harding
Laser-based microfabrication and metrology of laser-driven inertial fusion targets
Prof. Dr. Ir. Hugo Thienpont
Another exciting aspect of the "21th International Symposium on Laser Precision Microfabrication" is that visitors do not have to miss an exhibition even in virtual space. Instead, the DGM has created a digital platform where companies can present themselves prominently and with individually designed stands.
The LPM2020 is also pleased to have a Gold Partner in LAMpAS for virtual implementation.
