Intelligent Materials 2015 Don’t miss the deadline for the submission of abstracts: 08 December 2014!

It is our pleasure to invite to the 2nd European Symposium on Intelligent Materials, scheduled from 10 - 12 June 2015 at the ATLANTIC Hotel in the Baltic metropolis Kiel (Germany).

After the successfull conference in September 2013, the 2nd European Symposium on Intelligent Materials 2015, will bring again together experts in the field of intelligent materials in order to present and discuss recent developments and detect future trends.

The European Symposium on Intelligent Materials 2015 is an excellent forum to get in contact with international key researchers and stimulate new collaborations for developing novel intelligent material systems, characterizing their functionality from molecular mechanisms to applications.

Topics addressed in this symposium will include, but are not limited to:

• New intelligent materials
- Smart materials
- Multiferroics
- Multifunctional composites
- Biofunctional materials
- Bio-inspired materials
- Switchable molecules and surfaces

• Microstructural characterization of intelligent materials and correlation with their functional properties

• Theory and modeling of intelligent materials on different scales

• Applications of intelligent materials
- Integration into MEMS and NEMS
- Medical devices
- Biosensors
- Energy harvesting
- Information technology

In addition to the lectures there will be enough time to discuss in relaxed atmosphere while the poster evening at the end of the first day and while the social evening on the second day of the conference, when participants make a trip with the traditional steamer “MS Kiel” around the Kiel Fjord.
