In a relaxed atmosphere, the drafts of the DGM branch office regarding the rules of procedure of the jDGMs and the rules of procedure of the Young Talents Committee were discussed. After the meeting, the members of the Young Talents Committee were asked to comment in particular on the rules of procedure for the jDGMs and to submit their requests for changes so that the local jDGM groups could subsequently be involved in the finalization of these rules of procedure.
In addition, a lively exchange took place during the meeting in order to develop joint ideas for the sustainable promotion of young talent. For example, the development and sustainability of the jDGM local groups was discussed, as was the identification and subsequent strong involvement of multipliers, such as the active involvement of DGM-related professors.
The Young Talents Committee and the DGM branch office confirmed their decision that the Bundesteam should receive even stronger support in the "Materialnomics" case study competition. "Materialnomics" is an ambitious cooperation project of the VWI and the DGM to combine economic and material science topics.
In a further agenda item, Dr. Carina Hambrock of voestalpine Stahl GmbH was elected deputy spokeswoman of the Young Investigators Committee.
The meeting was rounded off by the presentation of the programs for the Materials Week, the celebration "100 Years of DGM", the preparation of the jDGM Annual Meeting and the election of the Bundesteam.
