The scientific program for the 5th Euro BioMAT 2019 is now online!

In more than 150 contributions, this year's Euro BioMAT 2019, which takes place in Weimar (Germany) from May 8th to 9th, 2019, will present various aspects of the production, characterization, testing and application of biomaterials and closely related fields.

Euro BioMAT 2019 presents and discusses the current state of progress and new trends in the development, characterisation, application, testing and modelling of biomaterials in basic research and industry. In addition, this symposium brings together experts from closely related fields such as biomimetics, biomineralisation and biopolymers.

The motivation is not only the current scientific progress and new challenges in this exciting, highly interdisciplinary field of natural and engineering sciences. Materials scientists, physicists, chemists, biologists in industrial research and development and physicians are increasingly faced with situations in which materials are confronted with high performance requirements and a demanding biological environment at the same time.

We are pleased to announce the following plenary speakers:

  • Lihi Abramovich, Tel Aviv University, Israel
Learning from Nature to Form New Organic Materials for Tissue Regeneration
  • Luiz E. Bertassoni, Oregon Health and Science University, USA
Digital Light Projection Stereolithography Bioprinting and Guided Mineralization of Microscale Tissue Models to Study Stem Cell Differentiation and Bone Tissue Engineering
  • Jürgen Groll, University Hospital Wuerzburg, Germany
Biofabrication – Chances, Challenges and Limits
  • Claude Rieker, Zimmer Biomet EMEA, Switzerland
Metal-on-metal bearings, where is the scandal?

The complete program can be found on the conference homepage:

An exhibition will be held in conjunction with the conference. Are you interested in presenting your company/institute and in supporting the Euro BioMAT 2019 conference? Please feel free to contact us for any questions or proposals regarding your company’s presentation.

We look forward to seeing you in Weimar 2019!
