Werkstoffwoche 2015

A successful debut

From 14th to 17th September 2015 the "Werkstoffwoche" took place at the Messe Dresden, Germany.

More than 1,800 experts came to Dresden for an intensive knowledge exchange. They participated in 14 symposia with 450 lectures and explored the exhibition with more than 80 exhibitors. The organizers, participants and exhibitors were completely involved in the concept of this new cross-sector event and exhibition. Not only the German Materials Society and the German Steel Federation as organizers drew a positive balance of the Werkstoffwoche:

"The Werkstoffwoche offered the sector a fantastic opportunity to go into depth in the relevant research and industry topics. By combining exhibition stands with a variety of parallel lecture sessions, the format of the event created an open and very productive discussion atmosphere.

For me, an important concern is the support of junior scientists. In this understanding, the Werkstoffwoche included upcoming scientists and developers for facilitating a direct exchange between the industry, science and universities.

On behalf of Daimler AG I would like to thank the organizers. This successful event set the best conditions for the Werkstoffwoche to establish as the future highlight for the industry."
