Reflecting on the success of the All-Hands-on-Deck Meeting 2024

This year, the Rhein Sieg Forum was once again the meeting place for the NFDI-MatWerk community, hosting the All-Hands-on-Deck Meeting 2024 (AHoD 2024) on 12 and 13 March 2024.

The meeting marked a pivotal moment for our NFDI-MatWerk consortium and participating projects, providing a platform to share knowledge, strategies, and insights to drive our initiative forward.

The event began with a warm welcome and quickly moved into a deep dive into the status quo of the Task Areas. Participants engaged in lively discussions, presented findings and explored the architectural framework that underpins our collaborative efforts. The first day concluded with presentations on our shared goals for 2024.

Day two opened the floor to participant projects, providing a unique opportunity for dialogue and collaboration on the ground. Presentations covered the current state of our Infrastructure Use Cases (IUCs with developed tools as connection points for our Participant Projects) and presented the work of our LOD Working Group. A highlight of the day was our poster session and the working sessions on our IUCs with the consortium and the participating projects.

Towards the end of the meeting, the results of the working sessions were presented, setting the stage for the conclusion and future actions of the NFDI-MatWerk initiative.

For those who registered and were unable to join us in person or online, we invite you to access the recorded sessions that were streamed live during the event over our conference platform. Together, we will continue our NFDI initiative with a symposium at the upcoming Materials Science and Engineering Congress in September 2024.
